What is WMCT?
WMCT is a tournament that adds storytelling to the well-established Minecraft Event genre. This means that you're playing games for an in-story reason, in addition to earning points! With fully fleshed-out worlds, characters, animations, and sounds, we aim to make our events a truly standout experience. As is usual with Minecraft events, there are several teams competing for the crown, but they'll all get to interact with the world and story, like you might find in an adventure map or video game.
Competitor Events
Competitor events are the primary events that always feature that season's main story. Members of the roster will see who can earn the most points and earn the victory!
Community Events
Community events are a way for non-roster members to try playing in a WMCT event! Sometimes these events are the main story, but typically they'll be a modified or "off-season" event.
Season Information
Portal Tag is a large-scale version of hot potato but the map uses portals that turn off and on! You need to keep track of what portals are open or risk being cornered by whoever is IT! Unlike other games, this game is NOT team-based. This means you can tag teammates, so it's up to your team how you want to play it. Last player standing wins!
Scoring
Points are awarded based on placement.
Beam Battle is simple: stay on the beam and knock your opponent into the pit below. Every 8 seconds, the beam will shrink by 2 pixels until you are literally standing on a fine line. Beam Battle is played over three rounds against every other team. Each round, you'll be randomly paired to fight another team player in 1v1 matches, making a total of 4 micro rounds.
Scoring
Points are awarded on elimination and overall round wins.
This game is played across 3 rounds, each round against a different team. 5 gems have been placed throughout a large cave-system / mine-shaft. Once all gems are collected, the round ends. Collect the most gems to win! Security is quite strict, so there is some trivia required for the gem to be successfully collected in the machine.
Scoring
Points are awarded based on eliminations and gems collected.
This one is a classic! Pretty much exactly as you imagined — survive as long as you can and try to be the last team standing! Over time, sections of the map will close, killing anyone inside and preventing re-entry. Be careful, there are some custom items specific to the map that may be useful!
Scoring
Points are awarded based on eliminations and survival time.
Explore a vast dungeon abandoned for millennia. Guarded by elemental golems, your goal is to loot the temple and kill the golems defending it. The temple will slowly open up over time, changing the scope of the game. Use nearby chests to gear up and replace broken tools!
Scoring
Points are awarded based on golems slain and idols collected.
This is Season 1's finale game — but since that season has concluded, here is a full breakdown. Your goal as a team is to climb the tower and escape. The tower has puzzle rooms blocking your way; beat the puzzles as fast as you can and make it to the top. The boss battle phase occurs after all 5 puzzles are completed. Until the world created by ANNA and the facility explodes, damage ANNA for last-minute points!
Scoring
Points are awarded based on the amount of projectiles shot.
A re-work of a Season 1 favorite (and WMCT classic), Portal Tag 2 is a fast-paced game that requires attention and skill. Since Season 1, we've added powerups, which will change the way players can interact with the ever-changing portals. This is not a team game, but individual points will add up to team points, in order to determine which team wins.
Portal Tag 2 Point Breakdown
+4 Survival Points Per Elimination

A puzzling assortment of rooms awaits those who step foot into the Turbine Construction Facility, and the goal is to solve all of those puzzles. The team to complete the puzzles the fastest wins, with additional bonus points if finished fast enough.
Turbine Tinkerers Point Breakdown

Players have been sent in to get rid of this infestation, and get additional treasure, which they have to bank in order to earn points. Capture the... clock? In this kit-based PvP game, players venture into the Time Storage Facility. As teams, they capture the different kiosks which store time. The game is enhanced by the addition of a kit-based PvP system, allowing teams to have players with different strengths (and weaknesses!) to fight against other competing teams. The addition of new items - smoke bombs, hacking devices, extra-special projectile launchers, and more - will throw wrenches and waves and ice into what might otherwise be a perfect game plan. This game ends once one team hits 600 points or time runs out.
Countdown Point Breakdown
Every second of time captured from a Time Kiosk adds to your team's score. The hacking
tool can double the speed at which points are earned but that doesn't change where
the points are earned.
+1 Point per player elimination!
Surf the skies in your own seaplane! You team is split up into two groups, the flyer and the support team. The flyer will fly their own seaplane through a series of hoops until they make one complete lap around the island. The support team will hop into various parkour trials to farm powerups! The trials have various difficulties: the harder the trial, the more powerful the powerup. Once the flyer makes a complete lap, another teammate will randomly be swapped with them. There are a total of 8 laps (regardless of team size).
Sky Surfers Point Breakdown
The following points are given PER LAP completion.
An ancient and mischievous spirit lurks in the heart of a volcano, guarding an artifact within. Your goal is to steal it! You'll start out exploring the temple and answering some basic trivia. Depending on how many you get correct, you'll gain extra hearts for what comes next: a daring escape from the eruption! A series of obstacles and parkour jumps stand in your way. Each area only has a certain amount of time to escape before the heat level increases. If it gets too high, you'll start losing health. Landing on spikes will reduce your health and send you back to your last checkpoint. Can you escape in time?
Eruption Point Breakdown
+6 Points per checkpoint completed!
You've awakened an ancient being of pure chaos: The Harbinger! Your goal is to avoid his onslaught of attacks and try to get as many hits in as you can on his minions. Deflect meteors he throws at you, avoid rings of green fire, run from underneath bones trying to get you, and so much more. You'll also have to free the Corrupted Lords from their posessed state. At the end, run to the center to defeat The Core! If you die during the attacks, you'll respawn during the next one.
